We are confident that these community driven projects will not only have a massive positive impact on Detroit’s built environment but will also serve to strengthen the shared community fabric that weaves us all together. Please pay close attention to the COMMUNITY VISION STATEMENT in the artist packet. Seeking Artists for Vibrant Murals in Corktown!

City Walls Detroit is calling all artists! We're seeking proposals for two street murals in the Greater Corktown Choice Neighborhoods Planning area, funded by a National Endowment for the Arts grant. These murals will celebrate the community's identity and heritage, while connecting residents and visitors to greenway amenities.

10th Street Wayfinding Signage Project

This project is all about unveiling community gems!

The 10th Street Wayfinding Signage Project brings art and functionality together! We're hoping that you can create four permanent, artistic wayfinding structures that will guide residents and visitors to hidden gems along the greenway. These structures will double as stunning art installations, reflecting the community's unique identity and heritage.

City Walls Blight Abatement Artist Residency Program 4th Edition

Calling all Detroit artists! Leave your mark and revitalize your city! The City of Detroit City Walls Program, in collaboration with SpaceLab Detroit, is seeking 3 passionate artists (individuals or teams) to participate in the 4th annual Blight Abatement Artist Residency Program (BAARP).

 

Make a lasting impact by:

Transforming blighted walls into vibrant murals reflecting the community's spirit.

Connecting neighborhoods through the power of art.

Collaborating with residents, city officials, and local businesses to create shared narratives.

 

Project Vision:

Connected Communities: Foster safe and accessible neighborhoods where residents feel a sense of belonging.

Inclusive Expression: Showcase the unique character of each community through murals.

Collaborative Spirit: Work hand-in-hand with residents to incorporate their ideas into the final artwork.

 

Q and A session will be hosted on June 10th where City Walls Staff via Microsoft Teams will be available to answer any questions that artists may have related to this project. Link will be provided at a later date.
