How do I report drug activity?

Answer: Narcotics activity can be reported directly to the Police Department at the 244-DOPE Hotline. You will need to provide the address and other information if available such as (1) is it an abandoned or occupied property, (2) are there adults or juveniles involved, (3) what hours of the day is there activity and (4) names or nicknames of individuals involved, if known.

How do I report a dangerous building?

Answer: An open to trespass, fire damaged or collapsing building may be reported to the Building Safety & Engineering Department at 224-3215. You will need the exact address of the property. After a complaint is filed the location will be inspected within (7) seven to (10) ten days.

How do I get rid of an abandoned car on my block?

Answer: An abandoned or inoperable car on the street may be reported to your local precinct Abandoned Car Officer. You will need to provide the license plate number (if available), make, model and color of the vehicle and how long it has been sitting on the street. If the car is on someone’s property you may report it to the Building Division of the Building Safety & Engineering Department at 224-3222.

How do I report my neighbor that leaves their courvillie container out all week?

Answer: You may report a courville container to Department of Public Works at 935-4700. You will need to provide the address.

My street light is out how do I get it repaired?

Answer: You may report a street light out to the Department of Public Lighting at 224-0500. You will need the address of property where the street light is located. You may provide the street light pole tag number If it is available.

How do I petition the City Council?

Answer: You may petition any member of the City Council directly by writing to or faxing their offices or you may send your petition to the Office of the City Clerk addressed to The Honorable City Council, who will place it on the City Council Calendar for action.

Your petition should contain sufficient information for the City Council to properly investigate or process your petition.

The city didn’t pick up my bulk items?

Answer: You may report a missed bulk pickup to the Department of Public Works at 935-4700. You will need to provide the address and the date your bulk was suppose to be picked up.

When will the city repair or repave my street?

Answer: You may request an inspection of your street for repairs and to determine whether your street is schedule for paving by calling the Department of Public Works at 935-4700.

The city tree or trees in front of my property are dead or need trimming?

Answer: You may request an inspection of a city tree for removal or trimming by calling the Recreation Department - Forestry Division at 224-1111.

Purchased a property from the Planning and Development Department more than a eight (8) months ago and I still don’t have a deed to the property?

Answer: You may contact the Planning and Development Department - Real Estate Division at 224-1197. If you are not satisfied with the information provided by the Real Estate Division you may petition the City Council.
