MOCA stands for Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs. Our mission is to establish and maintain positive relationships with all community members in the City of Detroit. MOCA was established by Mayor Kilpatrick to ensure residents have a better relationship with departments within the City of Detroit, are knowledgeable of city government, and identify key issues in the community to build towards resolution.
The Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs serves as Mayor Kilpatrick’s community connection by developing and creating community-centered activities, communication and partnerships through regular proactive contact and interaction with the community at-large.
Goal:MOCA serves as a liaison for City departments and assists to improve City services by providing superior customer service to our constituents. We will support and educate the community on Mayor Kilpatrick’s initiatives with efficiency and professionalism.
MOCA supports Mayor Kilpatrick’s vision to empower and engage the citizens of Detroit while serving as a direct link, building strong, safe communities and developing cohesive partnerships to move us forward to the Next Detroit.
