The Board of Electrical Examiners consist of nine members appointed by the Mayor of the City of Detroit. Duties of the Board include: prescribing license application forms, examining applicants for license, prepare, review, and approve examinations for electrical licensing, conduct hearings to determine if licensees have complied with the provisions of applicable administrative rules and to promulgate any other administrative regulations necessary to make the provisions of the Michigan State Electrical Code effective.

The last meeting of the Detroit Charter Revision Commission was on February 21, 2012. The Commission agreed to close down administratively and allow the provisions of the Home Rule City Act to dissolve the Commission.

Copies of the 2012 Charter can be obtained by contacting the Detroit City Clerk, Janice M. Winfrey.
