CDBG/NOF Public Service Activities

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT/NEIGHBORHOOD OPPORTUNITY FUND (CDBG/NOF)

Each year, the Neighborhood Support Services Division, along with the City Planning Commission, reviews proposals from community groups applying for CDBG/Neighborhood Opportunity Funds (NOF). We review NOF proposals for consistency with CDBG regulations and City strategies and for project feasibility.

If you are awarded funding, our staff can provide the following services:
  • contract preparation
  • technical assistance for capacity and resource building
  • performance monitoring
  • program evaluation.

CDBG/NOF MANDATORY AWARD AND ORIENTATION WORKSHOP

Each year, the Neighborhood Support Services Division conducts the annual Mandatory Award and Orientation Workshop for recipient organizations of the CDBG/NOF for the forthcoming fiscal year.

TWO SESSIONS:

Session 1: 9 a.m. - Noon
Session 2: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Advance confirmations strongly recommended. Registration takes place 30 minutes prior to each session.

PURPOSE
To provide organizations with the necessary information to ensure successful program implementation and financial reimbursement.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

  1. It is mandatory that organizations attend one of the two scheduled workshop sessions.
  2. Session one is geared to first-time award recipients.
  3. Session two is geared to prior award recipients who have some experience with the NOF grant requirements.
  4. Organizations are required to send two representatives to the orientation workshop, one must have direct involvement in writing the contract and reporting the actual activities and expenditures of the program.
  5. Participants must stay for the entire workshop session.
