The Information Technology Services Department is responsible for providing centralized programmed information processing, telecommunications and network services to all departments and divisions within the City of Detroit. Information Technology Services provides project management, systems planning, design and programming support for the enhancement of existing systems, as well as for the development and implementation of new systems.
Support services include: application development, software and hardware maintenance, system analysis, training and office mechanization to increase employee productivity.
ITS streamlines and facilitates citizen interaction through the City’s e-government initiatives and gives them the ability to access a variety of government services 24 hours a day. Via the Internet, citizens can make service requests, obtain health records, research tax and assessments information, download forms for licenses and permits, obtain property records and make citizen public safety requests.
