MAJOR GOALS- To increase the number of businesses listed in the City of Detroit Certified Business Register
- To increase use of the Certified Business Register among city agencies, and other public, private and nonprofit entities to promote local business opportunity
- To provide continued support to City agencies in their use of the Contract Information Tracking System (CITS) application, which enhances achievement of their procurement goals
DETROIT BUSINESS CERTIFICATION PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Detroit's Business Certification Program demonstrates the City's continued commitment to the success of Detroit Based, Minority-Owned and Women-Owned businesses. By promoting contracting opportunities for local businesses, the City's growth and economic stability are enhanced.
This division certifies Detroit Headquartered, Detroit Based, Detroit Based Small, Minority-Owned, and Women-Owned businesses in support of the City's Executive Order No. 2003-4.
Businesses seeking certification from the City of Detroit must have been in business for at least one year prior to the date of application and must document their eligibility by submitting financial/ organizational information and may be subject to on-site review.
