REGARDING METHADONE TREATMENT FORMERLY PROVIDED BY THE CITY'S DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES:

The City of Detroit’s Department of Human Services (DHS) has decided to terminate treatment services as a provider of methadone.  As of January 23, 2009, all former clients of DHS were enrolled by the City’s Department of Health and Wellness Promotion (DHWP) Bureau of Substance Abuse Prevention, Treatment and Recovery with other providers for methadone treatment.  All clients continued to receive treatment from the provider of their choice without interruption or complaint.  Treatment services are available for any citizen who needs it.  Public Comment Request
Public comment is requested on the Michigan Department of Community Health's annual application for Community Mental Health Block Grant funding.  The application is a fiscal year 2011 update to the approved three-year plan (2009 - 2011) for Michigan's community mental health system and is for funding in the amount of $12,810,013 for the fiscal year that begins October 1, 2011.  These annual funds are used to improve public community-based mental health services for adults who have serious mental illness and for children who have serious emotional disturbance.
