Care

The Detroit Department of Health and Wellness Promotion, through an agreement with the Southeastern Michigan Health Association, administers Ryan White Part A funds which provide emergency assistance to urban areas most severely affected by HIV. This includes the city of Detroit and the following counties: Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Lapeer, St. Clair and Monroe.  Ryan White funded programs provide HIV-related care services for individuals who do not have sufficient health care coverage or financial resources for coping with HIV disease. These services include medical care, medical case management and transportation to medical appointments among others. As of March 2014 sixteen agencies are funded to provide services in the six county area.
