Parental Responsibility Ordinance
The City of Detroit reminds parents and legal guardians that the Parental Responsibility Ordinance will continue to be enforced by the Detroit Police Department when persons under the age of 17 are detained for curfew violations and/or criminal activities during the Angels’ Night period.

The parent or legal guardian will be issued a citation, have to appear in court, and will be subject to a fine.  Repeated neglect of parental supervision under this statute could result in the parent receiving up to a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.
