CITY OF DETROITSENIOR CITIZENS DEPARTMENTWE CAN HELP!We serve as advocates for seniors during the drafting of local, state, and federal legislation that will bring additional services to the community.
We work with City departments, public and private agencies, and community organizations to advise and assist in the planning and development of programs and services. We serve as speakers at meetings, conferences and other occasions.
Mission StatementThe mission of the Senior Citizens Department is to serve as an advocate for the elder population. To plan, research, monitor and coordinate direct and indirect services and activities in order to promote lifelong dignity and independence.
