Greetings Seniors of Detroit,
As I reflect on the history of the Detroit Senior Citizens Department, I recognize the tremendous service of those who came before me. As I take up the gauntlet to continue their quest, I relish the challenge of moving the department forward and expanding the range of services designed to meet the needs of Detroit’s seniors. As your new director, I ask for your cooperation and enthusiasm. I also ask you (my new parents, sisters, brothers and friends) to trust that we in the Detroit Senior Citizens Department are doing all we can to deliver a well-rounded array of senior programs. Success depends on your help and participation. My staff and I will visit the city’s senior buildings, recreation centers and community meetings in your area. We would like to know first-hand, person-to-person, what we as a department can do to make your life more comfortable and enjoyable. I am excited about meeting all of you and am looking forward to great accomplishments, while working together.
As part of my commitment to you, my staff and I will do all that we can do to implement the Detroit Senior Citizens Department’s mission. May God bless and watch over each of you. See you soon.
Love your new daughter, sister and friend,
Tene-Sandra Ramsey, Director
