Wanted: Suspect Witnessed In Brutal Assault Of Small ChildDetroit Police is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual who was observed maliciously abusing a child a business located in the 14000 block of Fenkell Ave. On Friday, December 21, 2007, between the times of 7:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., the suspect entered the location with the child and for nearly four minutes relentlessly struck the small child with hand strikes and kicks. When patrons entered the business, the suspect paused only to begin abusing the child when the customers left the area. The suspect then left the location with the child in the same vehicle that they arrived in (red Ford Explorer with a sunroof and unknown Michigan plates). Both the child and the suspect were passengers.
The wanted suspect is a B/M/25-30, approximately 6 feet tall, between 250 – 300 lbs, has dark skin tone, slight beard & mustache, wearing a red tee-shirt, bright multi-colored hooded jacket, and a black and white baseball cap with a design sticker on the bib.
The child is described as a black male, approximately two years of age, wearing a black hooded jacket, red shirt and black pants. The suspect and child was seen leaving in a red Ford Explorer with a sunroof and unknown Michigan plates.
