Historic District Commission Consultant
Qualified firm sought to conduct Section 106 review and Historic District Commission consulting services for the Planning Division of the Planning and Development Department (PDD). Historic consultant services will be conducted in the Historic Section of PDD, the section responsible for conducting Section 106 reviews to ensure that historic properties are identified and taken into account for all projects utilizing HUD funding from PDD, other City agencies and their subrecipients. The consultant is also responsible for staffing the Detroit Historic District Commission. PDD also provides staff to the Detroit Historic Commission. View, download the complete proposal.

Community Development Block Grant and Neighborhood Opportunity Fund (CBDG/NOF) Reissue
For the 2008-2009 funding year, the Detroit City Council and the City of Detroit Planning and Development Department have agreed upon the establishment of joint threshold criteria in an effort to improve the proposal review process and to ensure compliance with the recommendations by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for determining eligibility and awarding funds. Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) Building
The City of Detroit, through its Planning and Development Department (P&DD) is seeking Request for Proposals (RFP) to return the Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) Building, located at 1942 W. Grand River, Detroit, Michigan 48226, to its prominence as a local and regional destination.
The successful proposal will recognize the importance of this historic structure as an economic catalyst and regional anchor in the heart of the City of Detroit. The City of Detroit, through its Planning & Development Department (P&DD) is seeking proposals to rehabilitate the Brodhead Armory, located at 7600 East Jefferson, Detroit, MI 48214, on the Detroit Riverfront, to its prominence as a local and regional destination.  The successful proposal will recognize the potential of the site serving as a major economic catalyst and a regional anchor in the heart of the City of Detroit.  Any proposed development should be uniquely suited to the community’s aesthetic and economic well being of the City. NEXT Detroit Permanent Supportive Housing Initiative
The NEXT Detroit Permanent Supportive Housing Initiative (NDPSHI) is a collaborative effort to eliminate homelessness through synergetic planning and implementation of housing development and supportive services. The goal of the NDPSHI is to aggressively create up to 4,000 supportive housing units in Detroit within a five year period through acquisition, rehabilitation and construction of real property. Detroit Emergency Shelter Grant Program (ESG)
REISSUANCE OF RFP: The City of Detroit is reissuing the RFP for the 2008 Emergency Shelter Grant Program. If your organization already submitted a proposal during the time frame of the first request, you must resubmit your proposal by 3 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2007.

The City of Detroit through its Planning and Development Department anticipates receiving a Federal Grant for Emergency Shelter and certain supportive services for the homeless population in July 2008. Approximately $1.6 million in total funding is expected. For the complete RFP, click here.
