About Us

Community Access Centers serve as neighborhood resource centers that link the community, businesses and schools to City government.

Throughout the year, the City of Detroit sponsors a number of events and activities, such as Angels’ Night (an anti-arson campaign during Halloween), Motor City Makeover (annual cleanup effort) and Town Hall meetings.

During the Motor City Makeover and Angels’ Night campaigns, Community Access Centers play a major role in recruiting volunteers and encouraging participation from neighborhood and community groups and the business community.

The CAC staff also assists block clubs and community associations in organizing and planning neighborhood events.CAC offices also work with businesses and community groups to build strong relationships in an effort to improve neighborhoods.

Community Access Centers offer a variety of services from providing bus schedules and senior bus cards to assistance with property tax assessment appeals and tax deferments to job applications for City jobs.
