Dos and Don'ts

DO'S AND DON'T OF LITTER COLLECTION

Do:

  • Collect paper, empty bottles/cans, grass clippings and street sweepings.

  • Wear hard-soled shoes, long pants, long-sleeved shirts and gloves.

  • Work in your assigned cleanup area(s).

  • Bring your own, clearly identified cleaning equipment.

Do Not:
  • Put out bulk items (stoves, mattresses, construction debris, etc.)

  • Put bagged litter at the curb

  • Attempt to move or stack abandoned tires.

  • Pick up sharp objects or items that may be dangerous.

  • Enter onto private property without the owner’s permission.

  • Collect liquids.

  • Enter industrial buildings, construction/demolition sites or freeways.

  • Work in streets or high-traffic areas.   
ONLY BAGGED LITTER WILL BE COLLECTED, NO BULK ITEMS WILL BE PICKED UP, NO CONSTRUCTION OR DEMOLITION DEBRIS WILL BE COLLECTED.
