What is the Mayor’s Speakers Bureau?
The Mayor’s Speakers Bureau was developed to ensure that the community has the opportunity to learn more about the City’s wide range of programs and services, and a chance for us to get to know you and answer your important questions.
Community organizations, block clubs, church groups and business organizations can request a speaker from a City department to address their group and discuss City services and programs.
How Do I Request a Speaker?
The Speakers Bureau will respond to all requests for a speaker. Complete the Speakers Bureau request form and fax a copy to: Speakers Bureau at (313) 224-2129. You can also mail the form to Mayor’s Speakers Bureau, Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, 2 Woodward Avenue – Suite 1126, Detroit, Michigan 48226.
What Should the Request Include?
It is important that your request indicates a specific City service or program so that the appropriate department receives the request. Additionally, the date, time, meeting location and approximate attendance must be stated when making a request. Requests also must include the necessary facts about the organization and event.
All requests must be received in writing at least two weeks prior to the event. Please note that the speaking engagement will not be scheduled until this form is completed and returned to the Mayor’s Speakers Bureau. After we receive your request, you will receive a confirmation.
