Notice to Applicants

The City of Detroit is an equal opportunity employer. No applicant shall be discriminated against on the basis of race, religion, color, age gender, national origin, disability, or other criteria prohibited by City, State or Federal law.

To qualify for a job, an applicant must meet the education, training, experience and any applicable license or certificate requirements for the job classification. It is the applicant’s responsibility to provide acceptable proof of their work record and personal history.

The assessment process is listed on the Job Announcement under the heading "Subjects and Weights of Examination", and may vary by job classification. An applicant must be successful in each phase of assessment to move to the next phase in the process. If unsuccessful in any part of the assessment, the applicant may re-apply for the same job 60 days after the assessment date, and only if the job is still open for recruitment. Applicants will not be allowed to participate in the process until 90 days has expired since the last assessment for the same job.
