Office of Public Health Emergency Preparedness (OPHEP)
The mission of the Office of Public Health Emergency Preparedness (OPHEP) is coordination and facilitation of Public
Health Emergency Preparedness efforts for the citizens and employees in the City of Detroit in the event of a Public Health emergency, including natural, technological and terrorist events.

The OPHEP was established to provide All Hazard planning, ensure DHWP employees, citizens and community partners are prepared to respond to Public Health Emergencies whether natural, accidental or terrorist in nature, to coordinate and collaborate with internal and external partners, to coordinate and provide Public Health Preparedness awareness, training and exercises as well as the ability to ensure that Public Health workers as first responders will be able to respond to a Public Health threat or emergency 24/7/365.

It is our goal to keep those who live, work and do business in the City of Detroit safe and secure from Public Health related emergencies and disasters.
