"Adopt a Block." The City of Detroit is asking residents to focus on beautifying their own street. The goal is to clean and beautify the city one block at a time and make Detroit a more beautiful city in which to live, work and visit.
CLEANING THE CITY BY SECTORSMotor City Makeover is a bagged litter campaign, and the community cleanup will take place by sector on:
Saturday, May 1 — Sectors 1, 2, 9 & 10
Saturday, May 8 — Sectors 3 & 4
Saturday, May 15 — Sectors 5 & 6
Saturday, May 22 — Sectors 7 & 8
Please see the map to identify your sector.
INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITY GROUPS MUST REGISTER Individuals and community groups must register with the City of Detroit to get information on where to drop off their bagged litter on their designated Saturday, before 3 p.m. The City will only pick up bagged litter at these locations which are available through Neighborhood City Halls and on the City’s Web site. There will be NO CURBSIDE PICKUP of bagged litter.
In addition, Motor City Makeover volunteers may take bagged litter to any of the five drop-off locations. Individuals or groups that leave bagged litter in locations
