DDOT ANNOUNCES SCHEDULED SERVICE CHANGES

The Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) will implement scheduled service changes, effective August 30, 2008. Service changes are based on transit demands and are designed to reduce customer’s travel time.

“In order to make sure we are focused on our customers’ needs, we continue to analyze and evaluate our services to ensure that transit riders reach their destinations in a timely manner,” said DDOT Director Lovevett Williams. “The scheduled service changes promote route enhancements and efficiencies, and customers will see reduced wait times on many of our high-demand routes.”

Routes affected by new service changes:

# 14 Crosstown
The wait time between buses during afternoon rush hours has decreased from 15 minutes to 10 minutes

# 21 Grand River
The wait time between buses during morning and afternoon rush hours has decreased from 12 minutes to 10 minutes.

# 32 McNichols
Westbound trips leaving Cadieux and Mack between 4:49 a.m. and 6:09 a.m. will now leave nine minutes earlier. Please refer to the August 2008 schedule for the new trip times.

# 45 Seven Mile

The wait time between buses during the morning and afternoon rush hours has decreased from 15 minutes to 10 minutes.

# 70 Crosstown Express
The wait time between buses during the morning and afternoon rush hours has increased from 20 minutes to 30 minutes.

# 71 Grand River Express
The wait time between buses during the morning and afternoon rush hours has increased from 24 minutes to 30 minutes.

# 72 Dexter Express
The wait time between buses during the morning and afternoon rush hours has increased from 20 minutes to 30 minutes.

# 73 Woodward Express
The wait time between buses during the morning rush hours has increased from 15 minutes to 30 minutes and increased from 20 minutes to 30 minutes during the afternoon rush hours.

# 74 Gratiot Express
The wait time between buses during the morning and afternoon rush hours has increased from 20 minutes to 30 minutes.

On select bus schedules, the scheduled times along school routes (printed in bold) are subject to change based on the Detroit Public School (school-open) schedule and demand for service. Bus route schedules can be obtained at all DDOT locations, Detroit Public Libraries and Neighborhood City Halls.
