NETWORKING
Often artists and cultural organizations are not aware of the opportunities for sponsorship and funding that are available to them. The Detroit Recreation Department - Arts and Grants Division is working to increase networking opportunities between the cultural community and foundations, corporations, the media, and city, state and federal government. ARTS ADVOCACY
The Detroit Recreation Department - Arts and Grants Division is a strong spokesperson for all arts and cultural institutions and programs in the City of Detroit.
ARTS AWARENESS
Promoting art and cultural awareness among the citizens of metropolitan Detroit is an integral part of the function of the Detroit Recreation Department - Arts and Grants Division. Together with a number of other City agencies, as well as civic, corporate and community organizations, the Cultural Affairs Department is designing programs to further this awareness.
