I am reaching out and urging every major employer and small employer in the metro Detroit to hire Detroit workers.  As Chair of the Skilled Trades Task Force, I conduct monthly meetings where discussions are held on apprentice opportunities and employment, as well as overcoming roadblocks for those in the skilled trades industries.

Due to the current budget restraints causing a decrease in city services, there are some issues that will take time to resolve. However, I will continue to be the “Citizen’s Voice.” I will not waiver in my commitment to hear the voices of my constituency and continue to advocate and intervene on behalf of the citizens of Detroit.  When I was a candidate for City Council, I pledged to always serve the citizens of Detroit and continue in the effort to build a better city government.  I fully understand how the undertaking of this legislative process affects the lives of Detroit residents, and I will continue to stand firm with the residents of our great community.

I was taught as a child, if you were not part of the solution then you were part of the problem. I am more determined today to be part of the solution. I sincerely thank the citizens of Detroit for entrusting me to represent them on Detroit’s Legislative Body.

Our great city is very important to me; I stand on the promise of providing the highest level of integrity coupled with positive, firm leadership in protecting the rights and privileges of all the citizens of Detroit. We will get through these financial challenges that we currently face. I will not waiver on my commitment to serve. I believe that with all of us working together, we can make Detroit magical once again, full of promise and opportunity for progress!
